BARBARA'S YELLOW

| This beautiful variety is a new sport from Barbara's Pastelle, as you can see it is primrose in the bud, opening out to a lovely soft creamy yellow, the photo shows a blush, or is it just the light. Barbara's Yellow originally sported with a mate of Jack's called Ron Nelson, he was the one that encouraged Jack to grow dahlias in the first place. Sadly he is know longer with us, but at the latter end of his life, Jack used to rotovate his plot, and help him in what ever way he could, in return he let Jack have the sport, telling him to register it in his name, Jack didn't, preferring to register it in his mates name. The name Barbara was Ron's wife's name, and so this new sport will be registered as Barbara's Yellow, I'd like to think Ron Nelson knows all this is going on, and that Jack is just as keen as he himself was, when he to was growing dahlias. | ||||
