SIR ALF RAMSEY

Proof of the pudding if proof was needed.

Sorry about the background of my neighbour Lenny's wall, I was just to tired to undo the tie supporting the cane to the wire, and photograph it amongst the foliage in the back garden.  The size of the bloom can be worked out by realising a standard English brick is roughly nine inches long, so  come on a bloom which measures well over twelve inches in a five inch pot, is not to be sniffed at.

At the moment all of the fimbriated (lacinated) and giants dahlias grown in pots are enjoying an extended summer in the comparative warm environment of a ten by eight, whether we get any seed from this madcap idea will be shown off at a later date. You can see by the last long sentence why I have to cut back, and have nothing in pots after planting up the garden.

Getting back to the form, even this type of flower grown well, has those tight points to the petals.
