This is the type of bloom I'd like to see adorning the Giant decorative show tables a really formal with no extended points to the petals. Another two beauties are Alvas Supreme and the sport White Alvas Supreme. While I'm talking of the latter I should mention I did have a seedling out of a White Alvas Supreme cross I called Argyle Gold Top which I've placed below, but although the second year flowers were quite passable it got lost in it's third year here, but whether Bob Hendley had any when he moved to France I can only guess. I have a feeling that John Theirmann has stock of it, and if it's lived up to those first flowers knowing him he'll still have it, must send him an email.

Argyle Gold Top in the seed bed. |
In a case at Wisley before it was unpacked. |
Here it is growing in what I used to call my Magical Garden across the road, and in a carrying case in its second year along with Mayan Blood and Mayan Pearl on a joint committee day, happy days.
