Only one of these dahlia varieties was grown here in 2010 and what a beauty it was the name Mayan Wow was suggested after seeing a dahlia bred by one of the worlds finest breeders - sadly no longer with us. Gordon Leroux originally from Canada settled in the USA after meeting Jeanie his wife. Kenora Wow was the name he picked and if Wow was good enough for him it is certainly good enough for me. The variety did exceptionally well - being weather proof and a delight to see in the garden. Monet Buttermilk was one I was looking forward to grow but for some reason I over looked it so I'm itching to find out how it did at the Gilbert's nursery because the shape was so like a true water lily dahlia.
