REALISATION JUST BECAME FAMILIAR WITH SENSIBILITY
With the help of a very good friend I haven't even met yet I've solved an issue that's been on my mind - probably if I'm being truthful since the beginning of 2011. It must seem so very straight forward for any ordinary person, but as you know I'm no ordinary person. So in order to set the records straight the time has come to tell all the charities I've been involved with in the past I shall only be supporting four of you in the biggest way I can. That doesn't mean there won't be dahlias to support any cause you are willing to get people to donate to - you see I know my position here at Little Wisley will gradually change for both my wife Irene, and myself, and I'd be foolish to think I could go on continually in the same way as I've always done. Gone are the days when I could sow enough seed to produce four hundred new dahlia seedlings every year. Not only do I have to reduce the number because of the work it entails - I have to be able to give the plants more room to be able to assess them in that first critical year - so time and room to grow them joined forces to make sense of my involvement. Possibly more people than would admit think they can do more than they actually accomplish properly - that's no bad thing I've always had a busy schedule it keeps me happy, but I have to be realistic. Don't forget if you have a cause you are passionate about, and good selection of friends and associates who might like to donate to it - I would be more than willing to give you a dahlia to name for free. This way I can make Just Giving pages that have a head start on any that I thought could help charities in the past. The page I made for Bowel Cancer in 2011 enlightened me to this fact having raised £1,500 in donations in a couple of months last year. You see it is important - first you have to have a heart felt cause, and second a bevy of willing associates that can afford to help you to help the charities you chose. In 2012 I will have the dahlias if you have the cause that is why I called the website Charity Dahlias - and don’t forget there will always be dahlias to commission as well - with a name of your choice should you need one.
Now to tell you the four charities that are nearest to my heart it is not because every last charity I wanted to help wasn't worthy, but these four I believe reflect what I'm about.
